Hello. My name is Joanne Torlucci, and this is my 10th year as an educator in Manatee County.
I am so excited to have the honor of being on the team to open Rowlett Middle Academy! You can contact me at [email protected] or call 462-4001ext 1404.
A little about me: I am originally from NJ, graduated from Muhlenberg College in PA, and attended graduate school at Stetson University in FL. Before I began teaching, I was a financial writer and also a freelance writer. My family's move to FL afforded me the opportunity to explore--through volunteering at Rowlett Elementary!--the one profession I had always dreamed about as a kid: teaching.
I am mom to two girls, currently BRHS students (and former Rowlett Elementary students!). My favorite things include cooking and baking (and watching Food Network and HGTV), reading, video editing, cheering for the Rays, and everything Disney. My daughter was a grand prize winner during the Year of a Million Dreams, and our family was awarded an overnight stay in Cinderella's castle in the Magic Kingdom, plus a VIP tour guide for the whole day, and we were Grand Marshals of the Parade!
How I like to spend my summers: vacationing in places where I can snap some great photos, catching up on my huge want-to-read book list, and spending lots of time online searching for the latest & greatest tools for students and teachers.
