Stop Motion Editing in iMovie
Stop motion: steps to success
1. Decide on idea & basic story
2. Set up stage area: backdrop and lighting (artificial light, not sunlight from window). Must be able to be used over multiple days.
3. Storyboard! Draw out backdrops, characters, and props. Plan well and don't overlook or forget anything!
4. Create backdrops, props and characters (from clay, or drawn).
5. Determine camera for shooting: camera, videocamera, webcam, or phone camera
6. Decide on stationary placement of camera (tripod, gorilla pod, or other stationary mount).
Camera MUST NOT move. Rig remote to take pics if possible.
7. Shoot movie--many many many photos with little movement between each.
8. See tutorial above for loading into iMovie.
9. Add sound. In most cases, music and sound effects in stop motion films are all added post-production.
10. Add any additonal editing features, titles, etc in iMovie.
